GTG Home
The Program on Geopolitics, Technology, and Governance (GTG) examines how emerging technologies—including artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and smart devices—are redefining power, economies, and policies worldwide. Our research addresses the complex challenges these advances pose for international security, and how governments, businesses, and individuals adapt to shifting landscapes of risk and opportunity.
GTG is led by Colin Kahl and Andrew Grotto. We are fortunate to benefit from an outstanding network of Stanford faculty, affiliates, industry professionals, and government practitioners.
GTG produces rigorous research and policy analysis on technology and geopolitics. Our work includes peer-reviewed publications, policy briefs, and convenings that bring together government officials, industry leaders, and scholars to address critical challenges in AI governance, strategic competition, and international technology cooperation.
