Elizabeth Good
Biography
Elizabeth is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Calgary. She holds a Ph.D. from Northwestern University and was previously a CISAC Postdoctoral Fellow. She has held fellowships at Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center, Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation, Northwestern University’s Buffett Institute for Global Affairs, and Canada’s Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.
Elizabeth works at the intersection of international relations and comparative politics, focusing on peace and security, and gender and politics. She specializes in women’s representation in peace negotiations, questioning how gendered power dynamics influence peace negotiation outcomes for women, and testing the conditions under which women secure substantive gains. Her multi-method research employs statistical analysis, randomized controlled trial experiments, text analysis, process tracing, and case study research. Elizabeth’s research has been published in the American Political Science Review and the Journal of Conflict Resolution.
Previously, she worked as a Gender Specialist with UNDP in Kosovo and as a Gender Consultant for USAID in Ghana.
