Biography

Major Chance A. Smith serves as a National Security Fellow at Stanford University. Major Smith enlisted in the Air Force in 2007.

During his enlistment he served at multiple American Forces Network detachments. While on active duty he completed his Bachelor's degree and later commissioned through Officer Training School. After attending intelligence officer training, he served in a variety of roles at the Air Force Targeting Center, the 612th Air Operations Center, as the Commander of Detachment 1 of the 548th Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Group, and as aide-de-camp to the Commander of U.S. Forces, Japan and Fifth Air Force. During his career Major Smith has deploved to the Middle East and South America. He is a native of League City, Texas, and is married to his high school sweetheart, Megan. They have one son, Macaulay.
