Stanford University gives Salinas students rare opportunity to learn about global issues

To help give young people a better understanding of the world around them, Stanford University is educating high school students on national security and world issues.

Students at Everett Alvarez and Alisal high schools took part in the Stanford Program on International and Cross-Cultural Education (SPICE). The program aims to expand their knowledge and increase awareness in topics including terrorism and counterterrorism, international security and nuclear weapons, ethnic cleansing and genocide, and biosecurity.
