CISAC's Perry appointed to Defense Policy Board
William J. Perry, co-director of the Preventive Defense Project at CISAC, has been appointed to the Defense Policy Board. Perry, who served as the 19th U.S. secretary of defense, is one of five new members Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates appointed to the board, which provides independent advice to the Defense Department's secretary, deputy secretary, and undersecretary for policy. Gates also appointed a new chair, John J. Hamre, who is president and chief executive officer of the Center for Strategic and International Studies and a former deputy secretary of defense.
