Bio

Kristin Ven Bruusgaard is a Stanton Nuclear Security Predoctoral Fellow at CISAC for 2017-2018, and a doctoral candidate at King’s College London. Her research focuses on the formulation of Russian declaratory nuclear strategy in the post-Cold War era. She examines three cases of Russian nuclear strategy outcomes and uses qualitative data analysis tools to trace the influence of civilian and military actors. Kristin is completing her thesis work as a Research Fellow at the Norwegian Institute for Defence Studies (IFS). She has worked as a senior security policy advisor in the Norwegian Armed Forces, interned at the Congressional Research Service and at NATO Headquarters . She holds an MA from Georgetown University, and a BA from Warwick University.
