Bio

Jeff Decker joined CISAC in September 2016 as a social science researcher, working with Dr. Joseph Felter on his Hacking for Defense project. Jeff earned his doctorate in International Relations from Bond University in Australia, where he wrote his dissertation “Enhancing the Effectiveness of Private Military Contractors.” Outside of school, he has conducted research analysis in national security and international affairs as a RAND Corporation summer associate for two summers in D.C. Jeff served in the U.S. Army as a special operations light infantry squad leader in Iraq and Afghanistan and received an honorable discharge and Army Commendation Medal (x2) for valorous conduct in combat. He is founder of March on Veteran, an organization that supports veterans suffering from mental health issues, such as PTSD.
